I'm taken to different time
A time I wish could still be
Where we played in the moonlight
Danced in the mud after the rain
When we held hands in beautiful seasons
Every time I close my eyes
Am taken to the late 90s when childhood was big
When nature walks were great adventures
When smiles reflected inner souls
When everyday gave us a chance to grow
Am so fond of the early 2000s when oral stories brought us around a fire
To tap wisdom from grandparents
To laugh and have a good time
Oh, I miss the years gone by
When community meant love and care
Today, I am thinking about memories of the past
Am allowing my mind to wonder over the beautiful moments of the past
The past defines us, it gives meaning to our lives
So allow your mind to run deep and wonder...It is okay.
